Position Description

Job Summary

Primary Functions:

The Loader/Forklift operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with unloading inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.

  • Efficiently stack and store products in the appropriate areas.

  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

  • Report visible quality issue to team lead.

  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

  • Serve as load confirming to ensure no miss-ships.

  • Performing picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service.

  • Assist in physical Inventory.

  • Efficiently move product from staging areas into rail cars or trailers.

  • Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.

  • Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.

  • On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.

  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.

  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.

  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards to unload and load shipments safely.

  • Assist with proper stock rotation.

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

  • Assist in maintaining the security and cleanliness of warehouse

  • Maintain all required paperwork associated with the product and process.

  • Must be forklift certified and maintain valid certification.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and teams.

  • Report any and all Quality related issues to the Supervisor.

  • Maintain Quality Service by following the Organization Standards.

  • Participate in Company Safety program.

  • Follow all safety training and documents for this site.

  • Must understand and follow job specific SOP’s.

  • Maintain 5-S standards and housekeeping.

  • Ensure optimum operations of equipment by reporting needed Maintenance.

  • Meet department’s key objectives

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned consistent with the non-exempt functions.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions in English.

  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.

  • Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must maintain a positive rating as described in the training/qualification evaluation record.

  • Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.

  • Hand-eye coordination.

Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Any appropriate combination of academic and work experience.

  • Personal Protective Equipment Recommended and/or Required:

  • Safety glasses

  • Earplugs

  • Steel toe shoes

  • Hard hat/bump cap
