Firematic Supply Company Automotive Electrical Technician in Shirley, New York

WHO WE ARE:

Firematic Supply Co. Inc., is a well-established family-owned business who has been serving those who protect us all for over 50 years! We are currently seeking a Full-Time electrical installer to join our busy Truck Manufacturing team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

The electricall installer of the B.R.A.T.® team reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for the installation of all electrical components in newly manufactured B.R.A.T.® fire apparatus with attention to Quality, Safety, NFPA, and OEM standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow electrical layouts for 12 volt automotive systems and work closely with the Product Manager and engineering department to ensure proper installation.

  • Hands-on installation of various 12 and 110 volt equipment, lightbars, intercoms, generators, circuit breakers and boxes.

  • Assist with quality control in electrical department

  • Assist with electrical supply inventory control

Requirements

  • Min 2 years of proven experience in automotive electrical/electronics and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.

  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with high quality performance.

  • A thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes. Experience with Whelen products is a plus.

  • Must be able to work well and communicate with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment.

  • Availability to work overtime as needed

  • Must make safety a priority

  • Any EVT ratings are a plus and salary will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Important skills include strong verbal communication, and great listening skills.

Education and/or Experience

Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field

This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 6:30-3:00

Salary: $25-32hr. based on education and experience.
