Position Summary Responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosis, repairs, reconditioning and overhaul of heavy diesel equipment. Heavy equipment may include, but is not limited to, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, and/or excavators. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full Time         Principle Responsibilities/Accountabilities * Performs general and detailed repair of all heavy equipment, engines and components. * Diagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failures. * Keeps knowledge up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems. * Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements. * Maintains a clean and organized work area. * Performs maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment. * Makes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteria. * Make parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusability. * Performs duties as assigned. * Runs diagnostics using computer. * Respects coworkers. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Knowledge of the methods and procedures used in servicing and repairing gasoline and diesel engines. * Knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including combustion engines and hydraulic and electrical systems and air brakes. * Knowledge of safety standards for motor vehicles and equipment. * Knowledge of State vehicle inspection standards. * Basic Welding ability. * Ability to keep company proprietary information confidential. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Basic computer skills. * Effective communication skills and the ability to work successfully with a wide variety of people at different levels within the organization. * Detail orientated with strong organizational skills. Licensure And Certification * Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). * PA Inspection License * GFS Heavy Equipment Operator Certification. Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk, stoop, or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and is regularly exposed to extreme heat or cold, or temperatures consistent with outdoor weather.
