ManpowerGroup Instruments & Electronics Technician in Sherman, Texas

Instruments and Electronics Technician (1st & 2nd shift, $22.29 to $33.02)

Location: Sherman, TX

Hours: 6 am to 2 pm (1st shift) and 2 pm to 10 pm (2nd shift)

Pay rate: $22.29 to $33.02/hr based on experience + $1.00 shift differential on 2nd shift role

Essential Functions:

  • High and low voltage Electrical, Electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical repair, design, and trouble shooting.

  • Provide programming/support for all PLC's, automated systems, and controls.

  • Interact with Supervisors, Project Managers, and/or Engineers on new product development or process development projects.

  • Develop schedules and monitor those schedules to insure completion of new product / process projects on time.

  • Continually look for and report production cost reductions and improvements.

  • Provide programming and layout support for all automated equipment.

  • Assure all manufacturing, automation, PLC, and CMM programs are backed up regularly.

  • Must follow all safety and quality guidelines, policies, and procedures.

  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency (G.E.D.).

  • Formal I&E education via trade/vocational school, military or other industrial electrical certification or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in electrical and instrumentation position

  • Candidates must pass an assessment and oral interview to proceed in the process.

  • Working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems along with PLC controls and programming.

  • Experience with HMIs and VFDs

  • Knowledge of electrical circuits from 24vdc to 480vac.

  • Ability to use appropriate tools, calibration, and inspection equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret prints / engineering drawings and design schematics.

  • Ability to develop programs and select proper tooling where applicable.

  • Ability to program lasers, CNC, PLC and automated control systems and devices.

  • Extensive AutoCAD or equivalent experience

  • Ability to work in a team environment and perform cross functional job assignments.

  • Ability to do all of the above under stress and deadlines, sometimes without all available resources.

  • Flexibility in work hours; available to work occasional to frequent overtime.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to use Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Required to regularly sit; use of hands, fingers; may handle or feel,

  • Occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 - 40 pounds.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • Specific vision ability required by this job.
