Coherent Corp (II-VI INCORPORATED) Facilities Project Manager (Sr. Principle) - 2005779 in Sherman, Texas

In Support of the Equipment and Facilities departments, and capital projects specifically:

Project Development

  • Collaborate with management and engineering personnel to define the scope of capital projects, develop requirements for tooling and infrastructure, assess the level of effort, establish budgets and schedules. As well as define key performance measures.
  • Develop cash flow projections.
  • Outflow information to 3rd party design teams and or contractors to ensure accurate execution of deliverables.

Project Management and Oversight:

  • Oversee the daily execution of tasks and project schedules to ensure timely completion in alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, and resources to ensure effective operation, adherence to budgetary constraints, and compliance with policy. Provide periodic outbriefs to stakeholders on project progress to completion.
  • Perform periodic risk and opportunity assessments and ensure that risk owners implement suitable mitigation strategies. Communicate relevant information to leadership and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Track all projects with key deliverables.
  • Provide a comprehensive overview of key deliverables across all projects, and daily execution activities to drive focus on achieving objectives.

Compliance

  • Ensure that projects adhere to regulatory requirements, industry best practices and policies.
  • Interface with government representatives to define and achieve milestone development for government programs (including local, state, and national incentives) specifically related to the Sherman site.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, and objective evidence to support audits/ milestone payments.
  • Generate documentation, standard work policies and procedures related to facilities standard work.

Other Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement projects resulting in cost efficiencies.
  • Support factory transformational activities designed specifically for cost efficiencies.
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) projects from concept through development and integration into the factory.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, and X or more years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations management or program/project management environment or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Project management experience as a standalone item. / Factory transitions
  • Experience generating documentation, standard work policies and procedures
  • Experience in managing plant relocation projects.
  • Experience interfacing with external customers and government representatives.

Skills and Other Requirements

  • Build and maintain trusting relationships within the departments, organization, and also with external suppliers and government organizations.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action process.
  • Strong analytical skills to include the ability to synthesize large quantities of data and develop recommendation that will drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced environment, able to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a solid ability to drive and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated organizational leadership skills.
  • Skilled in leading, facilitating, and effectively managing organizational change.

  • Collaborate in a respectful and professional manner with co-workers, vendors, and other external parties.

Safety Requirements
