ABM Industries Adjustment Technician in Sherman, Texas

Overview

Installation Adjustment Technician is part of the Site Project Management Team which is responsible for installing company equipment at customers’ facilities. The position is responsible for field commissioning AMHS equipment from first power application, through final acceptance testing with the customer.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• No experience required and on the job training provided

• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required

• Strong knowledge of electrical diagnostic instruments and shop/hand tools.

• Working knowledge of Digital Voltmeter and Oscilloscope functionality.

• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints and diagnose/troubleshoot electromechanical devices.

• Flexible, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.

• Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player.

• PC skills (MS Office, Excel, Windows)

• Excellent customer satisfaction skills.

• Willingness to travel.

• Presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year of similar work experience

Responsibilities:

• Follow all corporate safety protocols and report unsafe conditions.

• Perform routine installations and/or maintenance on assigned products.

• Use supplied corporate processes to locate software revisions and appropriate documentation.

• Verify software status and evaluate appropriate information for log analysis.

• Install software with minimum supervision, using the provided installation procedures and release notes.

• Perform log analysis of system errors to determine hardware or software issue.

• Provide on the job training to customer technicians and internal technicians in routine operation, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of assigned products.

• Write and edit technical procedures within scope of responsibility and capability.

• Effectively troubleshoot issues for both hardware and software.

• Professionally interact with and understand technical information from internal team. Professionally interact with multi-national and multi-language teams.

• Serve as a company liaison between customer and company engineering for installation operations.

• Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork and Status Reporting with supervision. Complete Daily Log Installation Reports.

• Travel on short notice, as well as extended travel time (Domestic & International).

• Input data to various computer programs. Data manipulation, retrieval, and report creation and submission to Installation Site Manager.

• Attend daily in field white board meetings.

• Work independently with minimum supervision, as needed.

• Recommend technical solutions/resolutions to engineering groups.

• To prepare detailed check sheet on all the work that is done on each machine
