Summary:

Required Skills:

Supplier Quality Engineer, FPC/FPCA Responsibilities:

  1. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for overall FPC & FPCA quality, FPC manufacturing process development and readiness within the supply chain.

  2. Drive Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) activities with vendors and provide technical support in enhancing process capability and solving technical issues.

  3. Identify equipment, fixture, and tooling needs and drive implementation efforts to qualify and optimize the manufacturing process.

  4. Establish quality and process control plans at vendors for early detection of issues and to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability is consistently delivered.

  5. Responsible for conducting Design/Process FMEA, Failure analysis, PPAP, and Statistical Process Control.

  6. Knowledgeable in conducting DOEs, Line qualification, Machine Buy-off, Cycle Time & UPH studies, and Automation.

  7. Collaborate with the engineering team to understand product design intent and play a key role in supplier identification and selection.

  8. Develop and institutionalize our vendor and supplier selection process.

  9. Evaluate prospective vendors for process capability based on project needs.

  10. Publish concise reports on module yield performance, specification convergence status

  11. drive Failure analysis, Corrective Action implementation plan, and yield bridge to mass production.

  12. Responsible for supplier quality management with a focus on assessing supplier production and quality controls, evaluating supplier readiness, and adherence to module quality plan.

  13. Partner with Engineering to define product acceptance plans based on PRD.

  14. Collaborate with Suppliers and Engineering teams in assessing, proposing, and developing process technologies based on project requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is required.

  2. 5+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering in consumer electronics with relevant work experience. some process engineering experience is preferred.

  3. Strong knowledge of the FPC & FPCA manufacturing processes with an understanding of equipment, chemistries, and methodologies commonly used in the industry.

  4. SMT experience with fixture compensation, SPI, Reflow, AOI, and electrical function testing. Knowledge of the Microphone SMT key process is preferred.

  5. Experience with Multilayer FPC with HDI technology is essential such as Blind / Buried Via, Filled Via, and Button Plating. Knowledge of advanced technologies like LPI Cover-lay, LCP, and Rigid-Flex is preferred.

  6. Hands-on experience with FPC & FPCA electrical performance and reliability testing.

  7. Experience developing process & quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions/failure analysis efforts for FPC & FPCA.

  8. Experience with quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, GR&R, DoE, metrology, GD&T, and Correlation studies.

  9. Experience with doing data analysis using Excel, Minitab, or JMP.

  10. Experience in developing and qualifying tooling, jigs, fixtures, and testers.

  11. Good at identifying risk and developing solid plans to mitigate

  12. Good communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

  13. Ability and willingness to travel up to 35-50% to global locations.

  1. Masters degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience.

  2. Project management experience and experience with creative problem-solving in a development environment.

  3. Have Ownership/Leadership mindset with an ability to be in a leadership position and achieve results with minimal supervision
