Amazon Product Quality Manager, Softlines Private Brands in Shenzhen, China

Description

The Amazon Global Softlines Sourcing team is looking for driven individuals to help execute Amazon’s global sourcing program. The Quality Manager will be responsible for executing and improving the best practices in Softlines Quality. The Quality Manager role requires someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get things done. The talented individual will be able to manage the global Softlines quality process from A to Z including protocol, evaluation of labs, providing dispositions on lab test results, managing internal and external testing SLAs, lab test costs, root cause analysis and troubleshooting with vendors and mills. The ability to work in a demanding but congenial, team oriented environment is necessary, and technical (lab, mill) experience is required. This role may include international travel.

Key job responsibilities

The product quality manager sets the product quality protocols and guidelines, works with vendors to ensure these are met, reviews all tests and requirements periodically. Works with vendors on any corrective actions necessary and also audits products periodically.

Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent written and spoken business skills and an ability to compose grammatically correct, concise and accurate written responses.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues correctly and clearly to both internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make complex investigation decisions with little to no guidance.

  • Excellent problem solving skills.

  • Ability to retrieve data and perform complex analysis to reach data driven decisions on all aspects of risk for Amazon.

  • Self-disciplined, diligent, proactive and detail oriented.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and data security standards.

  • Passionate commitment to Amazon's emergence as the world's most customer-centric company.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience managing product testing and quality at lab , factory or mill.

• Bachelor's degree (Degree in Textiles or an Advanced Engineering degree preferred).

• Demonstrated success defining or launching excellent products

• Demonstrated knowledge of global quality

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in organizing, analyzing and presenting data

• Excellent negotiating skills

• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

• Technical background, with experience in textiles and chemicals

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a passport and visa for travel essentials of the Job
