Insight Global Network Engineer in Shelton, Connecticut

Job Description

An international holding company is looking for a hybrid network engineer to work three days on-site in Shelton, Connecticut. This network engineer will report to the Global Network Manager (based in US), on a team with two other network engineers (based in Paris). This team supports the companies routers, switches, firewalls, and overall networking environment which consists of 1,000-1,500 assets globally (about 70 sites). 50-60% of this role will be project based. The main initiative for this team is to restructure the current regional IT space into a more consolidated globalized network. This will include assisting in the Latin American region, which is why Spanish speaking would be really beneficial. The remaining 40-50% of their day will be working on break-fix tasks and working tickets. Some specific examples of these tasks may include designing and implementing network configurations, troubleshooting performance issues, resolving outages, and assisting with network monitoring. The perfect candidate will be eager to learn, trustworthy, and reliable.

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

 - 3-5 years of experience in a network engineering role

 - Cisco routing and switching, firepower firewalls, wireless networks, DMVPN, dynamic routing protocols EIGRP/BGP

 - Cloud networking specifically Azure networking experience.

 - Ability to utilize industry-standard monitoring tools to proactively identify and address network performance issues; SolarWinds, Centreon, Cisco Prime/DNA center

 - Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and troubleshooting methodologies

 - Willingness to take ownership over assigned tasks and capable of driving large projects to a successful completion

 - Strong documentation skills

 - Ability to communicate effectively across an enterprise with many locations worldwide Bilingual/multilingual, Proficient in English, with Spanish desired, but additional languages could consist of Portuguese and/or French. null
