Quality Care Rehabilitation Professionals (dba Quality Care Rehab & Autism Center) can offer you a career working in a medical office setting! Our Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist Apprenticeship Program is registered and approved through the US Department of Labor as a Medical Secretary/Medical Insurance Specialist/Medical Biller.

Through our partnership with Macomb Community College, participants will have the opportunity to work full time as a Medical Biller while completing 183 hours of classroom instruction through the college. Required coursework will be provided at no cost to the apprentice, and all work performed at Quality Care will be paid. Upon completion of the registered apprenticeship program, participants will earn a Medical Reimbursement Specialist certification.

  • Quality Care is looking for an individual willing to work between 2 clinic locations located in Shelby Township and in Clinton Township.
  • Shifts will generally be 8 hours, flexing between 8:00am and 7:00pm, plus a Saturday rotation from 8:30am until 5:00pm
  • Must have a current and valid drivers license, reliable transportation and be willing to travel to both clinic locations.
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
  • Periodic and annual performance reviews are conducted with eligibility for merit increases and opportunities for advancement.

Summary of Essential Functions

  • Monitor the company's accounts receivable balances by identifying collection issues and contacting patients.
  • Post electronic charges, patient statements, payments, notes and other related information to insurance plans.
  • Work and communicate with peers, patients, and payers regarding accounts receivable.
  • Verify CPT, ICD-10 and/or modifiers to accurately reflect documented services.
  • Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements.
  • Submit insurance claims to payers and process rejected claims by sending an appeal and/or reconsideration letter.
  • Verify patients eligibility, coverage, benefits and identify managed care authorization requirements.
  • Assist reception in answering phones, checking in patients and handling day to day issues as needed.
