Township of Shelby DPW Grounds Worker in Shelby Township, Michigan

The Charter Township of Shelby's Department of Public Works is now accepting applications for part-time/ seasonal Grounds Maintenance Workers.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a current driver's license, and a clean driving record.

Interested applicants must be available to work 7:30 am 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, during the summer.

The hourly pay rate for this position is $15.84 per hour, no benefits.

Some of the job duties associated with this classification include, but are not limited to:

  • Paint fire hydrants
  • Plant trees and shrubs
  • Lay topsoil and replace sod and seed
  • Repair and replace damaged sidewalks
  • Utilize hand and power tools, such as shovels, rakes, and saws
  • Drive Township trucks or other vehicles to worksites
  • Assist full-time employees with various projects including sprinkler system repairs and water damage repairs
