Position Purpose:

Great opportunity for a Phlebotomy professional to work in an organization that focuses on treating the whole person, physically, emotionally and spiritually!

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of clerical, registration, cashier functions as well as laboratory phlebotomy procedures. Obtains registration information from patients and patient signatures as outlined according to procedure. Explains health care policies and procedures to patients. Obtains and interprets physician orders and diagnoses and performs the clerical functions related to ordering of ancillary services. Distribute laboratory reports and retrieve patient results. Maintains logs and records. Maintains inventory and orders supplies. Reconciles billing on AS400 and error batch. Works with Warde send outs including follow up with procedures and Warde billing.

What Phlebotomy will do:

  • Performs detailed tasks subject to frequent interruptions and changing work priorities.

  • Position requires ability to frequently push/pull/lift light objects more than 35 lbs., perform difficult manipulative, arm/hand steadiness and hand-eye coordination skills; walk for prolonged periods; see objects closely and far away and hear normal sounds with some background noises.

  • Primarily involves sitting, walking, reading.

  • Exposure to biohazardous materials (blood and body fluids).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate required. Associates preferred.

  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.

  • Department operation provides 24-hour coverage, 365 days per year, which may require working a variety of shifts and days of the week. Must be able to be reached at home by telephone.

  • Valid Driver's License
