REM Community Services is hiring a Maintenance Associate!

Pay Rate: $20.00

M - F 8am - 4pm

The Maintenance Associate a rranges the maintenance of the physical facility, grounds, and all equipment with established vendors t o ensure a safe, attractive, and enjoyable living environment for the individuals receiving services.

Qualifications:

  • Maintains ongoing preventative maintenance programs such as changing furnace filters, small drywall repair, and small painting projects to touch up or paint a bedroom for a new admit.

  • Calls the appliance repair man and if replacement is needed goes and buys a new item e.g. refrigerator for delivery/set up, housekeeping such as clogged toilet plunging, cleaning up overflows,

  • Maintain good working relations with external vendors such as electricians, plumbers, and general contractors as needed.

  • Submits Orders for maintenance supplies to the office coordinator and requests more when inventory is low.

  • Provides necessary maintenance of all tools and small equipment such as replacing belts on a sander, and possibly changing the oil in the snow blower. – REM Community services is able to contract this out if needed

  • Schedules fire alarm system maintenance for smoke and heat detectors, fire pulls, and fire extinguishers. Contracts out maintenance of sprinkler systems and assists with quarterly inspections.

  • Assists in monthly fire drills.

  • Monitors and assists in basic maintenance of facility vehicles - will take to the dealership for repairs and maintenance.

  • Maintains operational records, and data and monitors and enforces observance of safety regulations. for inspections.

  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.

    What you will bring to REM Community Services/Sevita:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and one-year related experience.

  • Some working knowledge and ability to handle simple maintenance and electrical equipment. REM Community Services has a contact established with vendors for large requests.

  • Will travel to the Children’s facility in CB at least once a week or as needed via company van. Will have a company credit card for purchases

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
