SCHIP seeks a dynamic professional to oversee our retail shop and donations. This position will work collaboratively with the Board and Merchandise Coordinator to continue to build on a retail program that reflects SCHIPs unique brand and goals.

  • Oversee daily operations of the shop and manage resale donations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers.
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels at the shop to meet yearly sales goals.
  • Maintain high standards of organization to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain an effective and efficient sorting and distribution schedule for donations.
  • Work with a Merchandise Coordinator to ensure the best quality product in shop.
  • Manage timely seasonal changes of product at warehouse and shop and plan seasonal promotions.
  • Manage POS system.
  • Communicate all building related concerns and oversee maintenance so that repairs are completed.
  • Able to drive the donation van between shop and warehouse (both in Shelburne) on a regular basis.
  • Communicate any issues and/or concerns to the Board.
  • Responsible for monthly P&L results and reporting to the Board.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent supervisory skills, communication problem-solving, organization and time management skills.
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Computer skills, including working with Square and Google Docs & Sheets.
  • Must possess an understanding of or strong interest to learn second-hand retail.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of inventory control.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to analyze data and provide action-oriented plans.
  • An ability to delegate and to motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Experience with budget management.
  • Commitment to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated.
