JOB REQUIREMENTS: Machine Shop Youth Apprentice Curt G. Joa, Inc., 100 Crocker Avenue, Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, United States of America Req #295 Friday, August 16, 2024 Job Summary: Machine Shop Youth Apprentice will perform set-up and all position welding on a diversified line of standard weldments and structures in accordance with code certifications, alignment, dimensional and general inspection requirements. Use rule, square, templates and gauges. Requires knowledge of welding principles and techniques. The Machine Shop Youth Apprentice will also learn different areas of the machine shop Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Job: Plan and select welding procedures to obtain maximum weld strength and alignment per drawings, job layouts and project needs. Fit and position weldments having several parts, use welding fixtures and jigs where applicable. Monitor all welding processes and ensure absence of any shrinkage and distortion to materials. Manage welding work to ensure compliance to all specification to perform defect work. Maintain disc grinder and perform all cleaning and grinding of metals. Operate various manual and automated welding equipment for welding work. Analyze speed and strength of welding arc for all welding processes. Calculate the dimensions of metal parts to be welded. Perform milling, turning, drilling, tapping, and deburring operations. Identify various types of tooling and materials. Checks for defective parts on materials and performs maintenance on machines. Read and interpret blue prints. Occasional Job Responsibilities: Cross training in other departments. Job Requirements: Process Qualified GMAW/FCAW Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
