Job Summary

The Bioprocess Intern will work with us together on Bioprocess Development projects.

This role will have a great opportunity to get trained and participate in activities directly related to different aspects of process development and industrialization of cell culture based products such as therapeutic proteins.

On-Job Training Opportunities and Responsibilities

  • Comply with lab safety requirements, environmental guidelines and SOPs for all work performed

  • Prepare reagents/materials to support experiments: make solutions, media, plates, etc.

  • Provide support to key technical activities,including but not limited to cell culture in various scales and types of bioreactors, purification, and analytical experiments

  • Lead part of analytical experiments (ELISA, growth assay, in-process bioanalysis, etc.) and populate data.

  • Assemble and disassemble cell culture/fermentation vessels and equipment

  • Assemble and disassemble equipment for in-process sampling, harvesting operations, filtration, formulation, purification, filling, lyophilization, bulk freeze/thaw, etc.

  • Calibrate and maintain a few key equipment

Qualifications

  • Able to commit to this program for at least 6 months, 12 months is preferred, with at least 16-24 working hours per week

  • Undergraduate or graduate students in Life Sciences or Engineering, or related fields

  • Experience with following lab safety protocols and procedures

  • Experience on making solutions, making media and plates is preferred

  • Experience on equipment set up and changeover is a plus

  • Background in sterile technique, cell culture/fermentation, purification, HPLC, ELISA, growth assay is strongly preferred

  • Familiarity of computer-based systems.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Good agility and accountability, able to work in a team environment.
