Eaton Corporation Supplier Quality Engineer in Shanghai, China

What you’ll do:

  • Provide quality assurance for sourcing group when purchasing fabrication and manufactured products from suppliers in China and other countries in Southeast Asia.

  • Support the Sourcing Manager or delivering all aspects of the Supplier Quality Assurance functions.

  • Conduct supplier site assessment to complete in-depth evaluation of supplier’s manufacturing process capability, business, and management systems.

  • Following Eaton Standard Sourcing Process (ESSP) to develop NPD or Resourcing projects at supplier site.

  • Facilitate and identify the unresolved or potential supplier quality issues within assigned projects and suppliers during routine supplier visits, coming out and following up mitigation plan accordingly.

  • Participate in Production Feasibility Review with supplier and engineering team.

  • Work with cross function team on Prototype qualification, PPAP Pilot Run until mass production.

  • Lead the process of supplier APQP&PPAP and QSL workbook.

  • Provide on-site support on supplier tooling & fixture validation, capacity review and improvement, measurement system correlation analysis, production build and shipment monitoring.

  • Support sourcing team’s continuous improvement activities at strategic supplier site by using Lean, Six Sigma and VA/VE to achieve the key performance indicators of Defect PPM, Lead time and Cost savings etc.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions of supplier quality issues from quality audit, internal/external customer complaint until entire case closed.

  • Produce written reports for audit, quality incident and make presentations if needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree of manufacturing, mechanical or EE engineering or above.

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality control or in engineering, quality, SCM or mfg. department of Low-voltage electrical distribution products or automotive industry or preferred.

  • Good knowledge and experience of SMT, assembly, stamping, machining, and plastic molding process.

  • Lean, Six Sigma certified, Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.

  • Excellent quality system ISO9001 & IATF16949 knowledge and experience, understanding of ISO14001 and OHSAS18001

  • Good knowledge and experience in problem solving methods and quality tools.Knowledge of Measurement techniques, inspection methods, and equipment.

  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.

  • Strong ability and be in efficiency to manage multiple projects at the same time without losing focus or quality.

  • Strong visibility to proactively develop and improve supplier to mitigate potential risk.

  • Be willing to attend meeting at night and have 50% travel per week for supplier on-site activities.

  • Experienced in working cross-functionally.

  • Good communication interpersonal skill and social skills.

  • Fluent in English speaking and writing.
