Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead market opportunity assessment through a thorough understanding of the product/indication and China unmet medical needs

  • Disease knowledge: current treatment and potential change in the future

  • Product knowledge: target product profile, launch timeline, patent situation, and etc.;

  • Market understanding: current size and trend, buying process, patient journey, competitor intelligence, and etc.;

  • Business case preparation: a) make reasonable assumptions based on all existing information; b) seek alignment from different stakeholders; c) present and get endorsement from China management team; 4) communicate the business case to regional/global teams and seek feedbacks.

Prepare and own the portfolio strategy for respective therapeutic areas to reinforce Takeda China strategy

  • Lead TA portfolio strategy preparation based on in-line products, pipeline products and company strategy through working with cross functional teams;

  • Seek China management endorsement and communicate it with related regional and global stakeholders;

  • Prioritize potential molecules/indications in the pipeline according to the portfolio strategy;

  • Propose potential inorganic growth based on the portfolio strategy and lead or actively participate related projects

Identify appropriate development strategy to seek any opportunities for an accelerated launch and support China Aspiration plan

  • Work closely with development function to understand existing clinical development strategy;

  • Work with China cross functional teams, e.g. medical affairs, regulatory and BU, to identify opportunities to accelerate new product launch;

  • Propose the plan in CPDC (China portfolio development committee) and seek endorsement;

​Support new product pre-launch activities

  • Act as the brand owner and ensure a smooth transfer to the BU till L-24 months;

  • Own the pre-launch activities through working closely with both medical affair and development organization;

  • Participate appropriate medical activities, e.g. AB meeting, and conduct field visit to seek inputs/comments from KOLs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Level of Education

  • Bachelor’s degree a must;

  • MBA or master’s degree preferred;

  • Medical, pharmaceutical or biological related major a plus

Working Experience in Relevant Field

  • 8-year working experience in pharmaceutical industry (in-house or consultancy service);

  • In-house NPP, brand marketing, market research and/or BD experience preferred;

  • Balanced agency and corporate experience a plus;

  • Oversea experience a plus.

Professional Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and integration capabilities

  • Strong business acumen and able to demonstrate strategic thinking;

  • Strong communication skills and able to deal with ambiguities

  • Good learning agilities and flexibilities to shift among different therapeutically areas

  • A good team player and strong willingness to collaborate with cross functional teams

  • Good presentation skills and fluent in English (both written and spoken)
