Google Software Engineer, Pixel Intelligence Framework and Experiences in Shanghai, China

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in software development with Python/Java/Kotlin.

  • Experience with data structures or algorithms in an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience launching one or multiple intelligent user-facing products leveraging models and algorithms.

  • Experience with project leadership, influencing product directions and decisions from technical and product perspectives.

  • Experience and domain experts in compute-heavy algorithms on mobile systems.

  • Experience driving product excellence through well-defined quality metrics and metrics-oriented optimization, and the ability to work cross-sites and cross-functionally.

  • Understanding of the different trade-offs of models.

  • Excellent execution and communication skills, and the ability to take initiative and grow in fast-pace environment.

This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

  • Develop intelligent applications on Pixel devices and clarify product and technical ambiguities with fast prototyping and metrics driven development processes.

  • Propose, design, and implement data pipeline and labeling solutions and craft the right data set for model experiments.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies and apply them to our technical solutions.

  • Interface with multitude of teams across product areas and cross-functional partners (Engineering, Research, UX, Product Management, User Experience Researcher, etc.) to influence our engineering priority and roadmap.

  • Develop state-of-the-art heuristics and algorithms that leverage a multitude of models. Design evaluation mechanisms and conduct evaluations of the intelligent algorithm and signals.
