Amazon Senior Risk Manager, Trustworthy Shopping Experience in Shanghai, China

Description

We're hiring a Senior Program Manager to shape the strategic direction of our policy and governance program. You'll focus on creating a risk framework for Asia Global Selling, enhancing seller compliance, and optimizing the overall seller experience.

Responsibilities include assessing and managing safety risks for global selling, driving initiatives to detect and prevent unsafe products on Amazon stores worldwide. Your expertise in Product, Food Safety, and Compliance programs will be crucial in defining policies and implementing compliance tools to ensure adherence to regulations and standards.

In this role, you'll collaborate with CN business, legal, product, and policy teams to establish initiatives that effectively manage safety risks and support our selling partners. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, possesses strong strategic thinking skills, and can seamlessly transition from strategy to execution. Independence in building stakeholder relationships and initiating new projects is essential.

Key job responsibilities

• Work with complex cross-functional teams to identify safety control gap and develop mitigation plan with considerable impact across multiple organizations

• Partner with WW safety team to improve selling partner experience

• Support Safety and Compliance escalations from internal partner team

• Support media escalations related to safety and compliance issues of global selling

• Partner to drive safety awareness and continual process improvement

• Deliver results to achieve stated goals and projects as assigned

A day in the life

Review product safety requirements and process in region teams and identify potential opportunities for global selling partners, develop strategy to mitigate gaps by partnering closely with business, product, policy and legal teams. Report on goal progress and bottlenecks to leadership team.

The Trustworthy Shopping Experience Asia Global Selling (TSE AGS) team strives to ensure the long-term success of AGS Sellers on Amazon by facilitating global business scaling. Our mission includes safeguarding customer satisfaction by verifying the authenticity and quality of products on the platform. We prioritize upstream product compliance and safety, informing sellers about relevant laws and regulations during onboarding. Additionally, we work to enhance customer experience by addressing safety, quality, and order defects. Collaborating with business and partner teams, we develop CN-first solutions applicable globally. We also engage with regulators, law enforcement, and consumer forums to communicate Amazon's commitment to a superior experience for both sellers and customers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 10+ years' program management, business development, management consulting experience

• 5+ years' experience related to risk management, product/food compliance, regulatory compliance.

• Strong written and verbal communication (both English and Mandarin).

• Experience working with and presenting to leadership

• Experience working with global and cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, operations, regulatory, risk management or related field.

• 5+ years’ experience influencing industry or regulatory norms and policies

• Experience working with public policy or legal team, influencing internal policy

• Excellent organizational skills with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

• Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving

• Penchant for process improvement to mitigate risk and deliver a positive customer experience

• Ability to make decisions even in ambiguous situations

• Experience working independently, autonomously and collaboratively
