OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE OF JOB

/

  • Lead strategic and tactical procurement activities for sourcing of APAC Indirect categories including but not limited to Commercial/Marketing, Professional Services, HR, Facilities and General Services necessary to support corporate functions.

  • Create value by contributing to the brand objectives regarding quality, supplier and risk management, innovation, sustainability, services, process improvements and cost savings to ensure internal stakeholders satisfaction.

  • Provide purchasing expertise and support, promote purchasing guidelines and exchange of best practices.

KEY ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

Strategic sourcing and category management:

Segment and define the categories

Create and align the strategy of category with key stakeholders

Execute strategies in alignment with sourcing policy

Reporting

  • work in close collaboration with BU and report projects and performance (quantitative and qualitative indicators) within the reporting framework

Communications and Continuous Improvement

  • contribute to the internal communication: purchasing projects, referenced suppliers and agreements conditions, purchasing guidelines

  • persuade internal clients to engage Procurement as a strategic versus tactical partner while communicating Procurement value

  • maintain high level of communication across the organization

  • evaluate supplier reliability, work with suppliers on continuous improvement activities and drive for overall best value

Contracting

  • collaborate with internal customers to create thorough business requirements and incorporate them into sourcing strategies and resulting agreements

  • procure and negotiate different types of Indirect Services contracts to support corporate initiatives

Budgetary/Financial

  • assist in the development of budgets

  • responsible for monitoring and reporting of various financial metrics related to Indirect Procurement.

  • complete financial analysis for procurement projects

Negotiations

  • initiate and lead cost improvement projects through negotiations and/or service improvements from inception to completion

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

(e.g. professional qualifications, on-the-job training, education, etc)

  • Above bachelor’s degree

  • Strategic sourcing methodologies

EXPERIENCE/ COMPETENCIES

(e.g. health care industry, multinational company, number of years, what level/types of roles, knowledge, skills and attributes, etc.)

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in multinational healthcare company’s procurement organization

  • Understanding of indirect procurement and experienced in best practices purchasing tools and techniques

  • Analytical, persuasion and creative abilities / teamwork

  • Excellent communication skills within all levels of organization and suppliers

  • Minimum 3 years of People Management experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing procurement strategies which contribute to overall business objectives is a must
