General Motors DRE and software integration engineer - DMS in Shanghai, China

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, verify, integrated, debug, and release software & calibration for DMS SW and work collaboratively with multiple agile teams to help deliver end-to-end DMS/DAA product features.

  • Lead technical objectives and testing strategies to evaluate ECU software system from different levels and support feature and validation team to develop test cases. Execute necessary sanity tests, smoke tests, regression tests, black box tests, safety tests and performance tests for development purpose as required.

  • Evaluate and review the ECU logs, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), internal API, Parameter Identifier (PID), Routine Identifier (RID), and Data Identifier (DID) data to perform root cause analysis and debug software. To interface with internal and external customers and suppliers in resolution of technical issues

  • Leads product development team meetings.

  • Leads/manages supplier resident engineers. Be the primary GM engineering interface with the component suppliers.

  • Supports vehicle Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) activities.

  • Generates technical solutions for current, new, and major programs.

  • Works with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, methods, and product improvements, and to support build programs.

Additional Job Description

Requirements

  • BS in Electronic Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering

  • 3+ years’ experience with large-scale embedded software testing.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: HIL, SIL, BSP/Board Support Package, Operating Systems, RTOS, Linux/QNX, SOC (System on Chip).

  • Demonstrate develop test protocols and automation scripts for repetitive validation processes.

  • Knowledge of serial data communications (Ethernet (preferred), CAN, LIN).

  • Demonstrated experience with high level analytics of ECU software.

  • Experience with Software Development processes including source control, bug tracking, and design documentation.

  • Working knowledge of batch/shell scripting.

  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Fluent in Mandarin and English

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, globally, and with joint ventures.

  • Very high level of analytical problem-solving skills where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies

  • Knowledge of hardware and software interfaces

  • Experience with CI/CD automation

  • Design/Development of Safety Critical Systems/Components

  • Understanding of HIL/ SIL test methods

  • Experience with Automated Driving sensors (Cameras, Lidars, Radars, Ultrasonic Sensors)

  • Prior experience negotiating between parties.

  • Prior commercial experience a plus for negotiations with supply base.

  • Exposure to SoC bring up for ADAS.

Exposure to the Adaptive AUTOSAR service-based vehicle platform
