Job Description:

Summary

Maintain production equipment to the subassembly or component level. Participate as an active team member in achieving plant and department goals and support other activities. Assist in development of preventive and predictive maintenance procedures. Participate in the development and continued improvement of production equipment, operation, process, safety, and maintenance program. Assist in cross-training of plant personnel. Actively pursue and maintain total plant safety.

Essential Duties

  • Provide documentation of time during scheduled work periods by job or work order.

  • Assist with checks. Order material required to maintain/repair equipment.

  • Develop preventive, safety and standard operating procedures.

  • Conduct technical audits of equipment to determine condition, root cause of failure and remedy required to return equipment to full operation. Provide oral/verbal and/or written communications as to findings of the audit.

  • Document equipment maintenance, including inspection, repairs and modifications. Ensure all necessary information is up to date with details noting cost, material, conditions and procedure used.

  • Cross-train peers and other plant personnel.

  • Provide technical guidance to operations personnel in proper maintenance procedures and lead personnel in maintenance operations.

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in all work areas.

  • Practice safety in accordance with all federal, state, local land plant safety directives and procedures.

  • Initiate, develop and participate in the implementation of minor equipment modifications, equipment upgrades/alternatives to improve productivity and reliability.

  • Actively participate as a maintenance team member.

  • Act as a primary customer point-of-contact for E*I related matters of equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Assist in meeting or exceeding plant goals and standards in all work areas.

  • Assist in the improvement of reducing schedules and unscheduled downtime, maintenance cost and mean time between failure and productivity.

  • Complete all documentation per standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs 10 to 30 feet in height to access equipment

  • Capable of standing 11 hours per day and climbing stairs regularly

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and regular climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing up to 11 hours per day.

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery.

  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone and radios.

  • The ability to use basic hand tools and tools required by his/her area of technical expertise.

  • Understand multiple voltages from 480 AC to 54 DC.

  • Troubleshooting skills and understanding of control system (starter controls, VFD’s DC drive)

Under This Roof, We Require

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • A minimum of three (3) years technical experience in an industrial setting or application.

  • Evidence of continuing education in his/her technical field. ASET or ASMT in industrial electronics, industrial mechanics or the equivalent is preferred.

  • Experience in the web handling industry.

  • Computer literacy in Windows, DOS, or similar applications/environments.

  • Experience with programmable logic controller (PLC), preferably Allen Bradley ControlLogix.

  • Programming skills in single or closed loop (PID) process controllers.

  • Theoretical knowledge of predictive maintenance processes including trend and vibration analysis of rotary equipment.
