Survey Party Chief: PVE, LLC is looking for an experienced survey technician to join our Sewickley, PA office. In support of client requirements, the Surveyor position performs boundary retracement surveying, as well as general civil site work and construction layout by planning, conducting, and recording surveys.  Office preparation of boundary surveys, mortgage surveys, Subdivision and Lot Consolidation Plans, Management of day-to-day scheduling, and office setup of stakeout data for field survey crews.

  • The ideal candidate possesses a love for the outdoors as the job is mostly outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to carry at least 50 lbs. over uneven terrain, use hand tools, machetes, measuring devices and other equipment in support of the survey process.
  •  Training will be provided by Licensed Survey professionals to motivated candidates on ALTA, As-Built, Stake-Out and Boundary survey projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Locates and determines land by measuring and calculating points, elevations, lines, angles, areas, and contours, laying out roads and improvements. Records survey by preparing notes, records, drawings; writing legal descriptions; applying computer aided design technologies.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Required Skills

Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter curriculum or equivalent work experience. Familiar with Trimble Robotics and GPS

Experience with scanning and familiarity with UAV Surveys or Part 107 License a plus

Experience with Trimble Business Center a plus

Knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD & Civil 3D in a Survey design capacity a plus

Ability work effectively with Civil Project Management Teams and Survey Team members.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.
