Job Description

Established in 1996, Protein Technologies Ingredients Group (“PTI”), was a company engaged in the development, manufacture, and marketing of unique and innovative Savory Solutions (the non-sweet spectrum) that include flavors, seasoning compounds and functional raw materials for the food industry (including unique protein-based ingredients, which are manufactured using advanced technology), with a special emphasis on the processed meat and convenience food industry. PTI was acquired by Frutarom in 2016 and became part of IFF in 2018 with the acquisition of Frutarom by IFF. PTI is part of the Nourish division of IFF and geographically it is part of Europe.

The PTI Group operates a production site in Serpukhov, not far from Moscow. The group has around 350 employees in the various disciplines such as sales and marketing, production, R&D and Admin. The office location for this role is Serpukhov manufacturing site.

And now, we are looking for aSensory Evaluator IIto join our team.

In this role you will be our feet on the ground and will physically be at our office in Serpukhov site. You will be functionally reporting into the Supervisor, Quality Lab.

The primary function of this position is to performs sensory evaluations of raw material, intermediate and finished products, making pass / fail decision. You will make risk analysis and usage decision of non-conformances, as well as provide technical assistance for internal and external customers. You will lead and direct the sensory evaluation team’s development efforts to become more proficient in sensory evaluation and proper discrimination of raw materials & finished products.

What does it mean to be a Sensory Evaluator II at IFF in general:

  • Performs Sensory Evaluations of raw material, intermediate and finished products.

  • Risk assessment making pass / fail decision

  • Provide technical assistance for internal and external customers (Quality, Production, R&D)

  • Lead & direct the sensory evaluation team’s development efforts to become more

  • Proficient in sensory evaluation & proper discrimination of raw materials & finished products.

  • Regular monitoring hold area, returns and making pass / fail decision

Job Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in discipline food technology, quality assurance.

  • We will rely on your at least 5 years of experience in savory business, manufacturing herbs, spices, dry vegetables, or related field at the position in R&D, Quality.

  • You have at least an intermediate level in English.

  • Advanced user in common office software programs (e.g. MS Office, Excel, 1C).

  • You have knowledge of basic food regulation and food safety requirements.

  • You have knowledge one of GFSI food safety standards will be advantage.

  • Your core competencies:

  • Good Ability to describe accurately sensory characteristics.

  • Master with a specialized set of organoleptic skills.

  • Mature ability to troubleshoot & investigating sensory differences.

  • Skillful communication skills and advice of sensory findings to internal, and external customers and application and creation.

  • Decision-making based on the test result and risk assessment.

  • Mature skill in taking care of shelf life extensions on customer’s request.

  • Be efficient, accurate, and confident to clearly communicate the evaluations to affiliated groups within the company.

  • Be open to discussion & proactively recommends improvements.

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
