{width="428" height="428"} Cedars at Dungeness is seeking enthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to join our team as a server! Play a key role in showcasing our exceptional Pacific Northwest cuisine and renowned hospitality. Join our team and apply now! The Server ensures all guests are provided with prompt and friendly service according to the department's standards. The Server describes menu items, assists guests in making food and beverage selections, takes and rings in orders, delivers food and beverages, processes payments, and assists fellow team members to ensure overall guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Accurately take guest(s) order and enter orders using Point of Sale system
  • Ensure that all food orders are prepared properly and on a timely basis
  • Maintain excellent rapport with guests and stimulate sales through professionalism
  • Observes diners to ensure that guests are satisfied with the food, beverage, and service
  • Knows the restaurant's food and beverage selections inside and out, including special offers
  • Assists management by informing them of guest complaints
  • Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and identifies when guest behavior should be called to the attention of a Manager
  • Responds to additional requests and determines when the meal has been completed
  • Responsible for all cash transactions; totals bills and accepts payments
  • Stocks station with soups, salads, rolls, baked potatoes, and beverages
  • Removes and resets dishes and silverware between courses
  • Present the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return
  • Pre-bussing, cleaning and resetting tables
  • Coordinate tasks with busser(s)
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Must follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Follow all general and department policies and procedures

     

     

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • One (1) year working experience in restaurants and cash handling
  • Knowledge of liquor regulations preferred
  • Ability to up-sell drink and food items
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and/or team members
  • Strong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner 
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
