This position supports the Army Prepositioned Stocks – 4 Program located in Camp Carroll, Korea. The Small Arms QC Inspector will comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR’s Zero Harm program.

Job Summary

Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS). General inspections; component repairs and replacement; unscheduled maintenance; repair of inbound vehicles. Detailed maintenance procedures and processes involve the following: Diagnosing or troubleshooting source of component and system malfunctions; determination of required repairs and parts; completion of lubrication orders; -10 and -20 level PMCS required maintenance; adjustment and replacement of brakes and associated components; removal and reinstallation of heavy armor side and bottom panels; assists MVAC technicians in air conditioning repairs and adjustments; removal and replacement of starters, generators and batteries; maintain and repair fuel tanks and associated fuel system components; replacement and adjustment of steering gear boxes; replacement and repair of transfer cases and propeller shafts; repair and replace Fire Suppression System modules, sensors, wiring, and extinguisher bottles; repair and replacement of pneumatic systems and components; replaces minor components such as fuses, circuit breakers, windshield wiper blades, light bulbs; perform maintenance related procedures and processes such as road tests, ground guide operations, vehicle washing, and fueling/defueling of vehicles; maintain and account for provided and personal tools, equipment, and work areas. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic I personnel.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an MRAP Mechanic II, you will:

  • Assist the Supervisor in supervising and coordinating the activities of maintenance personnel.

  • Repair all mechanical equipment.

  • Demonstrate leadership and technical ability to get the job done.

  • Troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, and perform maintenance on all types of automotive, hydraulic equipment, gasoline, and diesel-powered vehicles.

  • Provide Care of Stock in Storage (COSIS) based preventive maintenance and repair services under the guidance of the Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Section Supervisor.

  • Perform maintenance on the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Family of Vehicles such as M-ATV, MaxxPRO Dashes, RG Series, Cougars and other heavy wheeled tactical vehicles maintained on APS-4 program.

  • Perform preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS).

  • Perform general inspections, component repairs and replacement, unscheduled maintenance, and repair of inbound vehicles.

  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, or training to Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic I personnel.

  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

    Maintenance procedures and processes involve the following:

  • Diagnosing or troubleshooting source of component and system malfunctions.

  • Replaces minor components such as fuses, circuit breakers, windshield wiper blades, light bulbs.

  • Perform maintenance related procedures and processes such as road tests, ground guide operations, vehicle washing, and fueling/defueling of vehicles.

  • Maintain and account for provided and personal tools, equipment, and work areas.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base clearance and/or security clearance if required by site.

  • Must obtain a favorable adjudication of an NACI background check.

  • Must have a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.

  • Must have the ability to provide documentation to qualify as US EXPAT Invited Contractor Status and SOFA Visa IAW USFK 700-19 Regulation.

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Requires at least five years directly related work experience in the maintenance and repair of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Family of Vehicles to include M-ATVs, MaxxPro Dashes, Buffalos, Cougars, and Huskies.

  • Must have the ability to work from technical manuals, work instructions and work orders.

  • Must be able to provide a basic automotive tool set equal to a General Mechanics Tool Set.

  • Requires the ability to use automotive maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams and relevant technical and parts manuals.

  • Must be willing and able to work in a non‐temperature-controlled environment with high heat and humidity.

  • Must pass initial and periodic drug screening.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day.

  • Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 35 pounds to shoulder height.

  • Must be able to squat, knell, bend, reach and climb periodically.

  • Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • May also require knowledge of oilfield services equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Certification from a vocational school or other recognized source such as a military service-related Advanced Individual Training with a focus in electrical or automotive repair is preferred.

  • Successful completion of MRAP-U is also preferred.

  • EPA MVAC Technician Certification is preferred.
