Seneca, PA

Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit

Full Time (40hours / week)

Shift: Variable:

(typically, days & evenings and alternating weekends & holidays)

As a Milieu Therapist I, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. You'll engage in therapeutic activities with individuals and groups, fostering a positive & healing environment. Your contributions will be vital in helping our patients achieve their wellness goals.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain competency requirements.

· Facilitate or co-facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic activity groups effectively.

· Encourage or assist patients in performing activities of daily living.

· Accompany patients to out-of-building activities and appointments.

· Document in the medical record according to established policies.

· Manage crisis situations effectively using positive approaches.

· Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

· Provide clinical interventions based on client needs.

· Coordinate patient groups and activities.

· Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and other activities.

· Perform assigned work in a timely and productive manner.

· Complete one-on-one meetings with assigned patients to assess their current status.

· Conduct patient observations as ordered, following all guidelines.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling) or a related field with at least 12 credits in Human Services from an accredited institution.

  • Preferred: Mental Health experience and relevant experience with therapeutic and leisure-oriented activities.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Physical capability to provide direct care to behavioral health patients, including lifting, supporting, and responding to emergency situations.

  • May work in rooms where medications are stored, but no direct contact with medications is allowed. May be required to distribute medications to the nurse at the bedside.
