The Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program @ UPMC Northwest includes a specialized team of nurses to help patients make lifestyle modifications that promote a heart-healthy way of living. Seeking a dynamic healthcare professional committed to enhancing patient care and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing compassionate patient care through building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

  • Conducting patient assessments, monitoring vitals, observing changes, and promptly reporting significant incidents to physicians or managers.

  • Developing and documenting individualized treatment plans, implementing and monitoring progress, and adjusting as necessary.

  • Creating discharge plans and responding to emergencies according to department guidelines.

  • Facilitating effective communication among care providers and contributing to changes in patient care practices.

  • Applying evidence-based practices to enhance clinical care and patient satisfaction.

  • Prior cardiac care preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt to change and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Exercise Specialist Certification or CEP preferred

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Registered Nurse (RN)

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
