Solar Atmospheres Hot Zone Assembly Mechanic in Sellersville, Pennsylvania

Are you a mechanically inclined individual looking for a career change?  Solar Manufacturing might be the place for you.  We are looking for a Hot Zone Assembly Mechanic to join our growing team.  The ideal candidate is a tradesman with mechanical assembly experience preferably with familiarity of sheet metal fabrication in an industrial manufacturing setting.  The position is 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday -- Friday.

Are you a match?

  • Technical School degree or High School Diploma (GED) plus relevant work experience
  • 2-4 years of industrial manufacturing, maintenance, or machine operation experience
  • Ability to use and operate basic hand tools, measuring devices, powered portable tools, pneumatic tools, and stationary shop equipment.
  • Abilities in basic metal fabrication skills including welding, cutting, drilling, countersinking, deburring, grinding, tapping, and measuring.
  • Ability to competently operate material handling equipment such as forklift truck and cranes.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical assembly drawings and schematics, engineering specifications, and OEM instruction manuals.
  • Ability to analyze and solve assembly problems.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel and the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to occasionally work from heights above floor on ladders, boom lifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding desirable.

What your day would be like:

  • Mechanical assembly and construction of vacuum furnaces and their Hot Zone components and sub-assemblies.
  • Layout, fabrication, and assembly of steel and sheet metal fabrications.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Work efficiently and safely while ensuring company quality standards are maintained and following safety protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
