We are seeking motivated and independent individuals with experience in microbiology and nucleic acid testing. Reporting to the Senior Operation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, strategic development, and providing technical advisory support for our microbiology laboratory.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

  1. Document, revise, and assess laboratory methods in consultation with the key management team.

  2. Actively promote, lead, coach, and develop staff. Ensure that the key personnel are fully aware of any potential technical issues as and when they arise.

  3. Assess market requirements and customer needs for testing services, undertaking a feasibility analysis for their implementation in the microbiology and nucleic acid laboratories.

  4. Ensure recognized quality control procedures are in place and documented for new or modified procedures, along with identifying and reporting any quality issues, and ensure corrective or preventative actions are carried out and completed to address the root cause of the issue.

  5. Check, review, and authorise test results as an approved Majlis Juruanalisis Makanan Malaysia (MJMM) and Standards Malaysia signatory for release to customers.

  6. Lead technical communication with customers and ensure that any technical inquiries and/or issues or complaints are responded to in a timely fashion. Champion expertise through effective communication with customers regarding technical requirements.

  7. Ensure that all internal and external technical audits are completed as required and to actively participate in technical investigations for non-conformances.

  8. Lead workplace HSSE participation and proactively promote safe behaviour and injury prevention. Ensure that HSSE issues within the business are addressed and that hazard and risk management systems and processes are implemented.

  9. Plan, implement, and monitor projects as required, ensuring set timeframes and budgets are achieved.

  10. Able to conduct routine, R&D and method validation for microbiology and nucleic acid testing.

Qualifications:

  1. The candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in microbiology or a related field.

  2. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in managing commercial laboratories

  3. Thorough knowledge of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard and good knowledge of microbiology and nucleic acid testing.

  4. Must be a registered signatory with Majlis Juruanalisis Makanan Malaysia (MJMM) .

  5. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.

  6. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  7. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
