Description

OVERVIEW

The Site Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial functions, as well as providing support for Operations leadership within the plant assigned. Primary responsibilities include ownership of the plant specific P&L, supervising the monthly financial statement closing process, supervising accounting staff, and special projects as assigned. The Site Controller will also be part of a team that creates, improves, implements, and documents policies and procedures in the accounting area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide plant-specific monthly financial statements for management for use in consolidated financial statements

  • Analyze and reconcile the plant balance sheet

  • Maintain the company’s standard cost system

  • Maintain the company’s capital expenditure and fixed asset records

  • Supervise the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting function

  • Continuously improve the company’s financial control systems

  • Assist in the annual financial statement, bank and tax audits

  • Assist the Division Controller in budgeting and forecasting activities for the site

  • Be a member of the company’s management team

  • Serve as a business partner to other departments within the organization to drive improvements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of changing products and responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all employee levels and promote a team approach

  • Manages department staff; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, coaching, and developing talent, addressing issues and resolving problems

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience building and leading an accounting team, reporting and analytics function, and infrastructure development program

  • Experience launching, integrating, and improving ERP systems and consolidation systems to better report results that empower business units and functional teams

  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP current trends, and developments

  • Experience in manufacturing, especially precision machining, is highly valued

  • Standard cost experience: set standard costs of manufacturing products

  • Ability to provide standard cost variance analysis

  • Advise management on appropriate cost based on financial data

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting; CPA preferred MBA is a plus.
