General Job Description
Dogwood Industries is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator at our Factory in Sedro-Woolley, WA. Dogwood Industries manufactures innovative prefabricated steel structures for industrial use. The core mission of the CNC Machine Operator is to operate a CNC robotic plasma cutting structural fabrication system. The CNC Machine (PythonX) processes steel beams, channel, and square/rectangular tubes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reads shop drawings to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
- Safely uses material handle equipment to move steel to and from the processing area.
- Possesses knowledge of PythonX including power button and all switches.
- Secures work pieces and operates stops and guides for proper alignment.
- Depresses buttons, toggles, and starts machining operation.
- Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
- Turns dials and switches to correct machine performance.
- Inspects first-run piece and spot-checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications and follows QC procedures.
- Studies job packet and organizes materials for next run to shorten changeover time.

Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience as a CNC Machine Operator.
- High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree
- Experience in an industrial setting.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must be dependable, trustworthy, possess a positive attitude, and be willing to work independently or in a team environment.
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that may include extended work hours and occasional weekends.
- Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
Compensation
$22.00 - $34.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
