The Vitamin Shoppe Planner, Assistant in Secaucus, New Jersey

Overview

The Assistant Planner is responsible for the tactical execution of select Merchandising and Supply Chain initiatives that align to our corporate strategies and support sales, margin, turnover and service goals. The Assistant Planner is primarily responsible for purchase order follow up and maintenance, preparation of files that support store assortments and promotions,and manual allocations. This is a great opportunity to join a fast paced, dynamic retailer in a gateway role.

Responsibilities

  • Track all purchase orders with suppliers to ensure timely receipt of key product

  • Identify and take corrective action to overcome warehouse backorders or short-stocked positions

  • Review and manage system and report generated exceptions, such as late Purchase Orders and unfulfilled demand

  • Prioritize inbound receipts with Distribution Center (DC) Operations

  • Manage all DC receiving exceptions, working with appropriate cross functional teams to provide disposition

  • Primary store point of contact for Inventory related concerns. Troubleshoot potential issues, informing appropriate partners, and taking necessary actions

  • Prepare files that will trigger replenishment for new item introductions, promotions and display requirements

  • Execute manual one time purchases and allocations to stores as needed for marketing events and promotions and execution of transfers for internal movement of merchandise

  • Partner with Merchandise Planners on special projects

Other Functions:

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degreein related discipline

Required Knowledge:

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel

  • Retail industry business acumen

  • Working knowledge in Sales Planning and Inventory Analysis

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Microstrategy

  • Knowledge of RELEX a plus

Experience Required:

  • 1-2years in specialty retail or e-commerce environment in inventory/replenishment capacity is a plus. Willing to train the right individual with a passion for success and a willingness to learn.

Skill and Ability:

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and follow throughskills a must

  • Intuitive in nature; ability to anticipate what is coming next

  • Team Player

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment

Compensation

The wage for this position is based on many factors such as role requirements, skill set, years of experience and other organizational needs. The estimated range is $20.00 - $28.00 per hour.
