Blue Origin LLC Vehicle Test Bed/HIL System Engineer - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

Lunar Permanence: This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of engineers and technicians, you will design and build the systems for Blue Origin Lunar Landers Vehicle Test Bed (VTB)/HIL. The VTBs will be used to ensure the correctness and performance of the vehicle avionics software, interfaces between the subsystems and other space vehicles/systems. You will also design and build the emulators for the test bed. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Requirements, design, architecture, procurement, build, integration, verification, and certification of the VTBs and avionics emulators. Coordinate with the vehicle subsystem & test teams to define their test requirements, to integrate their subsystems in the VTB, and to complete the system & subsystem test plans. Support the integration of flight avionics, hardware, operator consoles, test equipment, and analysis tooling necessary to verify the requirements and performance of avionics units under test within the VTB. Support checkout of the avionics systems and solving technical problems. Develop the VTB integration and change management plans. Maintain configuration control of the VTB HW and SW configuration. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or related technical degree 4+ years of industry experience with avionics systems integration and verification Excellent problem investigation skills and proficiency in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, data acquisition cards, etc) Solid understanding and appreciation for configuration management principles Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Preferred Qualifications: M.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related technical degree Experience defining, designing, and/or operating electrical ground support equipment, labs, and/or test assets for hardware in the loop testing Experience with the development and execution of a large-scale verification of avionics on autonomous spaceflight systems Experience with verification of communication and radio systems in integrated laboratories Experience with JAMA and Windchill Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $120,060---$168,084 USD Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
