Meta Sustainability Program Manager, Net Zero in Seattle, Washington

Summary:

Meta is hiring a Sustainability Program Manager on the Net Zero Scaled Supplier Engagement team. We seek a teammate to drive decarbonization solutions for Meta’s suppliers. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to support Meta’s key suppliers in reducing their Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions and achieving their emissions reduction and renewable energy energy goals. This role will partner with internal teams, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to implement the strategy as part of Meta delivering on its net zero in its value chain by 2030 goal.

Required Skills:

Sustainability Program Manager, Net Zero Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze supplier data by sector and geography and develop strategies to support Meta’s key suppliers in reducing their scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions and meeting their emissions reduction and renewable energy goals.

  2. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement tailored decarbonization strategies for Meta’s key suppliers, such as energy efficiency, low/no-carbon fuels and refrigerants, and renewable energy.

  3. Work directly with Meta’s Sourcing teams and key suppliers to support them in reducing their Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions and achieving their renewable energy goals.

  4. Deliver strategic insights to the Net Zero team and cross-functional stakeholders on solutions effectiveness.

  5. Represent Meta externally, as needed.

  6. Ability to travel (10%).

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Energy, Sustainability, Business or related field.

  2. 6+ years of experience in fields related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, and low/no-carbon fuels implementation in various geographies in the manufacturing sector or related field.

  3. Working knowledge of GHG accounting principles and methods.

  4. Experience playing coordinating/leadership role in building partnerships with internal stakeholders in a corporate environment.

  5. Technical knowledge of solutions to decarbonize Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions (e.g. energy efficiency, renewable energy, low/no-carbon fuels and refrigerants, low carbon materials).

  6. Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal interdisciplinary teams as well as external stakeholders.

  7. Flexible, entrepreneurial spirit with experience influencing across an organization with indirect authority.

  8. A self starter, with a proven experience to diplomatically resolve issues through understanding conflicting inputs, achieving alignment, and proposing go-forward solutions.

  9. Proven understanding of global and sectoral sustainability initiatives.

  10. Effective communication skills

  1. Master’s degree in related field (e.g. MBA, Master’s in, Environmental Science, Energy, or Sustainability).

  2. Experience engaging suppliers directly in reducing Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.

  3. Knowledge and experience working within electronics supply chains.

  4. Strong familiarity in industry and/or geography challenges and opportunities in energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, low/no-carbon fuels and refrigerants, low carbon materials.

Public Compensation:

$116,000/year to $166,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
