The AZA Team is responsible for A to Z Assistant (AZA), an AI-powered virtual assistant designed to help Amazon employees find information and complete tasks more efficiently, freeing up time to focus on serving customers. With AZA, we are building on our search improvements and making it faster and easier than ever to get answers and complete tasks. Using natural language, employees simply ask AZA for what they need or are trying to do.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Program Manager you will lead technical programs for the development of several elements of the Amazon Intranet, including foundational Search services, Experience Instrumentation and Content Management Systems.

You will join our community of Technical Program Managers and contribute to defining and raising technical program management standards across the PXF organization. You will work on Amazon’s hardest problems. You will exert technical vision and will excel at managing a portfolio of requirements from multiple customers, developing strategies, influencing leadership decisions and developing program management methodologies that help accelerate delivery and ship highly complex software solutions in an AWS cloud environment. You will be experienced in driving complex technical programs across multiple organizations. You will have the ability to go deep into the understanding of technical problems, associated protocols and technology stacks. You will operate in total autonomy and have proven skills at driving decision making with technical and non-technical audiences. You will possess a unique blend of technical breadth and depth, paired with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.

  • 5+ years of software development experience.

  • 5+ years of technical program management with a proven track record of delivering and deploying large and complex software projects in an agile environment.

  • Experience of having worked in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as Java. or C++.

  • Strong leadership, project planning and execution skills.

  • Exceptional ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills.

  • Proven track record of shipping large complex scalable systems/applications in an agile environment.

  • Experience with professional software engineering best practices such as Agile project management, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong leadership, project planning and execution skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large scale distributed systems.

  • Experience of building solutions using AWS technologies.

  • Experience in building Search Technology.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
