We are on the hunt for Lead engineer with a passion for crafting exceptional social sharing features at Amazon. The ideal candidate will enhance the simplicity and intuitiveness of our sharing interface, ensuring that users not only share content effortlessly but also enjoy a personalized sharing experience. Your expertise will be pivotal in integrating enhanced previews, tailoring content recommendations based on user sharing data, and elevating the overall user experience. This role is a unique opportunity to influence how users connect, share, and discover content, making each interaction within our platform more engaging and personalized in a dynamic online environment.

Your work will directly help customers discover new items to buy and get social validation from sharing behaviors.

As a Sr Engineer, you'll be taking a leadership role in defining and delivering the future of sharing on Amazon.You'll collaborate closely with UX designers and product managers to optimize the sharing journey and eliminate any friction. You'll also explore new opportunities to leverage valuable sharing data for social proofing and improved recommendations.

A day in the life

On a day-to-day basis, you'll evaluate new sharing opportunities, define technical solutions, and manage deliverables. You'll also mentor more junior engineers, influence architecture decisions, and present your work to senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
