Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a Sr. SDE to join our Sponsored Products Search Supply team. Our team focuses on enabling merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners to increase their product sales on Amazon through native product advertising. To accomplish this, we tackle complex engineering challenges, optimization tasks, econometric analysis, and user-experience problems to deliver relevant product ads on Amazon search pages worldwide.

As a software development engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our team. Your primary responsibility will be leading initiatives to develop large-scale distributed systems and data processing pipelines. You will enhance the shopping experience for Amazon customers through innovative features on the search page. In addition, you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide other engineers, amplifying the overall impact of our team. Another aspect of your role will involve creating a widget framework that empowers our science team to optimize the shopping experience. You will have end-to-end ownership, from designing and building to operating critical customer-facing functionalities.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
