REI Sourcing Manager- Concepts in Seattle, Washington

Overview

REI is seeking a Sourcing Manager, Concepts who is responsible for creating our strategic sourcing strategies and implementation of new concepts for our in-store design catalog. This role is responsible for leading vendor sourcing strategies ranging from shop drawing development, RFPs, prototyping, work order negotiations, inventory strategies and in-store execution standards. This role works in partnership with Concept Designers, Procurement, Construction, Store Design & Planning, Visual Merchandising, Facilities, and Retail Operations to support the Co-op’s strategic direction. Additionally, this role is responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvements to deliver against our strategic goals for Physical Place in partnership with the functional leaders of Store Design, Construction, and Facilities.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Creating strategic sourcing plans based on category requirements and specifications to satisfy internal clients.

  • Sourcing and inventory management for fixtures, furniture, and finishes.

  • Reviewing and approving a comprehensive list of suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing the industry to understand trends and competitive positioning in order to ensure activation of the best possible supply base.

  • Evaluating supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.

  • Taking action to reduce costs focused on supply base, creating greater efficiencies and economies of scale.

  • Developing RFP strategies and executing in partnership with procurement.

  • Owning the analysis of the spending patterns for savings opportunities through the category and become a subject matter expert for the verticals which you are engaged with.

  • Responsible for REI Creative Hub space utilization and fixture inventory for mock store allocation to Physical Place organization.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of the design catalog regarding supplier data for: fixtures, furniture, finishes, lighting, artwork, and signage.

  • Coordination of design intent drawings, sketches, and/or materials from concept designers and distribution to suppliers.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of strategic sourcing experience for complex retail environment

  • Hands-on knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and/or category management processes.

  • Fluency in the design and development of retail fixtures, lighting, and/or furniture

  • The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated skills with relevant software for effective management and tracking of projects, such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Workfront or similar

  • Ability to manage geographically diverse projects delivering concurrent projects working remotely Advanced skills in establishing and maintaining budgets, schedules, and deadlines, prioritizing, and managing resources to accomplish goals.

Pay Range

$83,700.00 - $134,000.00 per year
