Snap Inc. Software Engineer (5) in Seattle, Washington

Design, develop and modify software applications and systems and related duties as assigned by the Company's engineering management. Perform application development for mobile applications and backend utilizing Java and Objective C and related technologies. Review code and code quality. Build robust, lasting, and scalable software products. Modify existing software to correct errors, allowing it to adapt to new hardware and/or improve performance. Perform Unit testing and Unit test fixture for new and existing applications. Customize automated and advanced tools for the Company's data storage infrastructure that spans across multiple data-centers.  Required education/experience: Master of Science or foreign equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering, IT, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering or related field plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer or closely related occupation; OR Bachelor of Science or foreign equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering, IT, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering or related field plus seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer or closely related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience. Required Skills: Academic knowledge and/or professional experience: Programming languages (at least three of the following): Java, Objective C, C, C++, C#, Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby, JavaScript. Development tools (Proficiency in at least one of the following): Git, Gradle, IntelliJ, Google App Engine. Operating systems: Mac OS, Linux. *Knowledge/experience means knowledge/experience sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered.
