We have exciting things going on in the Enterprise Engineering organization, and we’re looking for a Software Development Engineer that is ready to join and help us innovate the Livestreaming experience on behalf of our customers.

Come help our team build the next generation livestreaming experience for hundreds of thousands of Amazonians across the globe. Our service enables Amazonians, subsidiaries and enterprise services to, connect with their leaders and co-workers located globally via video streams in real-time.

To solve this complex problem in an optimized way we leverage AWS technologies to deliver low-latency, highly-available service with interactive features to customers, systems, and mobile devices across Amazon.

In pursuit of that mission, we are looking for experienced software engineers to help design, build, and launch the platform.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and deploy software components and features. Solve difficult problems generating positive feedback.

  • Work independently and with your team to deliver software successfully.

  • Help your team evolve by actively participating in the code review process, design discussions, team planning, and metrics reviews.

  • Focus on operational excellence, constructively identify problems and propose solutions, take on projects that improve your team’s software, make it better and easier to maintain.

  • Train new team-mates about your customers, what your team’s software does, how it is constructed, tested, operates, and how it fits into the bigger picture.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
