Amazon Software Development Engineer, EC2 Infrastructure Service in Seattle, Washington

Are you obsessed with designing software that efficiently processes tremendous data volumes, and leveraging the technological breadth of AWS ? Do you want the adrenaline rush of protecting customers, preventing attacks, and working with services in relation to detecting or implementing cloud protection? If this is you, then have we got an opportunity for you!

As a Software Engineer on the EC2 Substrate Safety team, you will be building and developing brand new software systems for a new security domain. You will solve mission critical development and operations problems throughout the global presence for EC2. You’d design and own robust systems with cloud scale best practices. You’d leverage deep experience of running a critical service with zero downtime, eliminating scalability bottlenecks and monitoring in every dimension.

You would enjoy working closely with a peer group of highly talented engineers, and in an environment that encourages innovation, calculated risk taking and rapid decision making.

Security domain expertise is not required for the product development oriented role.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
