Campaign Measurement & Optimization (CMO) org’s mission is to maximize global marketing ROI through actionable measurement results and insights for global marketing investment decisions. Our long-term objective is to measure the incremental impact of all Amazon’s marketing investments on consumer perceptions, actions, and sales. This requires measuring Amazon’s marketing comparably and consistently across channels, business teams and countries using a comprehensive approach that integrates all Paid, Owned and Earned marketing activity. As the experts on marketing performance, we will lead the Amazon worldwide marketing community by providing critical global insights that can power marketing best practices and tenets globally.

Be part of a team of industry leading experts that operates one of the most challenging big data and deep learning stacks at Amazon. Amazon is leveraging its highly unique data and applying the latest deep learning and big data technologies to change the way marketers optimize their advertising spend. Our campaign measurement and reporting systems apply these technologies on many billions of events in near real time.

You'll be tackling some of the hardest problems in advertising; measuring ads incrementality, providing estimated counterfactual and predicting the success of advertising strategies for omni-channel campaign measurement. Working with a cross-functional team of product managers, business development managers, engineering, and science (ML scientists, research science, economists ), you will build automatic scale software solutions to enable state of the art causal learning, deep learning, and predictive techniques which empower marketers understand the performance of their omni-channel campaigns and optimize their spends.

Key job responsibilities

  • Experience with full life-cycle of software development / MLOps solutions from beginning to production launch.

  • Deliver with independence on challenging large-scale problems with complexity and ambiguity.

  • Independently own the tech solutions to ingest, standardize and scale marketing data from external and internal data sources that feed MLOps systems.

  • Formalize assumptions about how our systems should work, create statistical definitions of outliers, and develop methods to systematically identify outliers. Work out why such examples are outliers and define if any actions needed.

  • Write code in languages like Scala, Java or Python. Support and improve what you and your team built.

  • Mentor and guide other engineers to develop the right system

Lead the technical solution including design, develop, launch and maintain measurement systems at scale that help estimate the incremental impact of Amazon cross channel marketing for various Amazon business units. Partner within the team and across to design, build, scale and launch new automatic solutions in productions. Work with peers to understand limitations and scope solutions and develop most efficient ways of handling it.

CMO (Campaign measurement and Optimization) owns a new challenging domain in CBA (Customer Behavior Analytics). As the experts on marketing performance, we will lead the Amazon worldwide marketing community by providing critical global insights that can power marketing best practices and tenets globally.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
