The Salvation Army is seeking Shelter Monitors to provide care and assistance to shelter residents in King County. This role helps individuals in immediate need and coordinates and responds to crisis and inquiry calls by providing support, information, and referrals to individuals seeking assistance with food, shelter, and resources. Duties & Responsibilities Handle crisis and inquiry calls, offering support, information, and social service referrals. Ensure a safe environment for residents by providing assistance and enforcing facility rules. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address hazards, inappropriate behavior, or needed repairs. Respond to emergencies, taking independent action within policy guidelines. Provide crisis intervention and security procedures, including notifying authorities when necessary. Manage client intake and departure processes as per department policy. Orient, support, and supervise clients. Assist in training new staff and volunteers. Collaborate with Salvation Army colleagues and represent programs to community agencies respectfully. Education & Experience HS Diploma or GED Minimum of 6 months experience in public contact/customer service Experience in social service shelter / residential preferred WA Driver's License preferred
