Amazon Senior Technical Program Manager, AWS Fraud Prevention in Seattle, Washington

Description

Would you like to join the team that protects all AWS services from Fraud? Do you enjoy thinking like a fraudster and using your technical skills to help AWS service teams strengthen their resilience to fraud threats? If so, AWS Fraud Prevention has an exciting opportunity for you.

Our mission is to protect AWS and its customers from the cost, inconvenience, and damage arising from fraudulent behaviors. Our TPM team owns, drives and delivers complex, cross-functional, technical programs and projects across engineering and science pillars with effectiveness and efficiency. We do this by influencing technical design decisions; enhancing and building consensus in cross-team collaboration; removing ambiguity and roadblocks. Our team also assesses AWS services for fraud risks before launch, and conducts proactive assessments of fraud prevention mechanisms on existing AWS services. The goal is to identify and neutralize fraud threats and vulnerabilities before they cause pain for AWS and our customers.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join the TPM team in AWS Fraud Prevention. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will own; prioritize and deliver program goals, communicate clearly and proactively remove roadblocks while always looking for ways to innovate and operate more efficiently. You will drive clarity on problem statements, bring alignment on deliverables, and serve as a bridge between various internal and external stakeholders across the world.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of technical projects, prioritize based on business impact, identify technical risks, make trade-offs and ensure efficient delivery of program goals;

  • Ensure new and existing AWS offerings are developed and operated in accordance with best-in-class fraud prevention practices. You will be a trusted advisor to teams across AWS, influencing product teams to adopt fraud detection and remediation mechanisms;

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Science teams and effectively manage dependencies and risks;

  • Identify opportunities, lead process improvements and implement best practices to improve team efficiency;

  • Develop, track, and report on key program performance metrics.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
