Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with product management to help drive the roadmap using key insights from our customers

  • Define the roadmap of your program and a plan for delivering it.

  • Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach

  • Interact both verbally and in writing with senior management, stakeholders and customers on reviews of your programs, status, risks and required mitigations to maintain project commitments.

  • Collaborate effectively with peer teams and key partner services to deliver robust engineering product

  • Support the team in making appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams.

A day in the life

Communication is key. You will orchestrate a tapestry of efforts across many teams. You'll do this through a mix of verbal and written communication using meetings to chart the unknown, and documents to convey knowledge at scale.

You'll think and plan at a broad scale. You understand the work required for your program, and how it can be executed in parallel across many engineers. You understand the systems and integrations across many teams.

You will have a keen eye for risks and problems. You spot them, and resolve or escalate before any impact occurs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
