Amazon Pay (APAY) is a high growth startup business within Amazon. Started in 2015, APAY is now available in 18 countries, allowing buyers to leverage Amazon’s trusted, convenient, and rewarding wallet for 3rd party purchase experiences online.

The APAY Program Team is responsible for driving policy and process simplification across merchants and external partners, and setup control mechanisms to safeguard customer experience. This Senior Compliance Program Manager role is a brand-new role created to lead programs for our largest partners including solution providers, marketplaces and payment service providers. This is a highly visible role (up to VP level) and fast-moving space with the aim to grow our partners by 10x over the next 5 years. As you start in this role, you’ll get to define the vision, goals, metrics and framework for the programs and set them up from the ground up. You’ll be the single threaded leader delivering due-diligence, metrics and processes for new partner launches. As the programs mature, you’ll grow your scope by scaling through automation and establishing partner NPS programs among others.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to influence across internal and external teams including at leadership levels, adapts quickly to changing demands, demonstrates critical inquiry, strong judgement, attention to detail, and a knack for operating in ambiguous problem spaces. Strong project and program management skills, effective writing, plus a proven ability to design and launch new programs, tools and processes are critical to the success in this role.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

  • Experience working cross functionally with non-tech teams

  • Experience launching new business or cross-functional programs defining scope, goals and requirements

  • Prior experience in compliance (e.g. due diligence, AML, know your customer, acceptable use policy etc.)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders up to L8/L10 levels

  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions, manage multiple projects, prioritization, planning and task delegation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA

  • Prior experience in payments

  • Experience in setting up and refining operational metrics

  • Experience in change management and driving adoption of new tools, processes, and decisions

  • Expertise in Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
