The Team

"Guidance, Solutions, Integrity" describes the Legal division’s approach to providing responsive legal guidance supporting pursuit of the foundation’s mission and implementation of the foundation's programmatic and operational strategies. The Legal division delivers comprehensive legal services by providing efficient and reliable legal guidance, managing legal risk, and supporting the development of solutions to achieve the mission of the foundation and its affiliated entities.

The Legal division partners with our colleagues across the foundation to enable mission-driven work by maintaining an efficient, well-run global organization where employees can thrive and make their best contributions. Doing this well requires effective collaboration, strong alignment, and thoughtful planning across both operational and programmatic teams – as well as shared accountability for mitigating risk and optimizing the foundation’s operational resources.

Your Role

This is a role for a creative leader with a high degree of ownership and process improvement skills. You will design and lead the planning and execution of projects and activities supporting improvements and change across legal operations business processes, teams, and functions. Provides proactive program and project leadership, identifying and driving project deliverables . Partners with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of outlined scope, business value, timeline, and quality . You mu st have deep experience partnering and working with global Human Resource and Expansion teams and developing and driving improvements and change across global teams and functions .

What You’ll Do

  • Design, lead, launch and monitor Legal operations programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation.

  • Provide tactical management throughout project lifecycle and oversee development of all project deliverables (charter, requirements, detailed design, plan, recommendations, post-project, etc.) .

  • Ensure effective convening and communication with project members, stakeholders, and senior leadership.  Includes providing proactive status updates , solutioning, risk/issue management and documenting/tracking key decisions and action items. 

  • Facilitate meetings and communications throughout the project lifecycle to build momentum and ensure visibility of relevant information to appropriate audiences .

  • Establish and nurture collaboration with project partners/sponsors to coordinate development of all deliverables and ensure alignment on prioritization .

  • D evelop artifacts, d ocument ing processes and findings from each project ensuring knowledge is captured and available for future implementation . Find opportunities for creating templates , playbook s, and standard processes for broader use .

  • Demonstrated complex project management skills and a successful track record of leading or running multiple simultaneous legal operations projects relating to process improvement initiatives in the labor and employee relations and human resources.

  • Able to work with flexibility, efficiency, and tact in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Open to rapid change and able to learn new things quickly.

  • Ability to communicate to internal and external partners, at all levels about technical and operational details, effectively adjusting approach to meet varying needs and level of understanding while protecting critical and legally privileged information.

  • Exemplary written and verbal communicator, comfortable communicating in multiple ways while intently and with a bias toward being responsive and productive. Strong preparation and presentation of executive-level information.

  • Demonstrated authoritative knowledge of, and ability to work across multiple project management systems, accompanied by knowledge in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and other web-based software applications.

  • Demonstrated DEI mentality in understanding and valuing differences in others and seeking input from the values and uniqueness of people of different groups and cultures.

    The salary range for this role is $166,300 to $249,500 USD.  We recognize high-wage market differences where our offices are located , in Seattle and Washington D.C..  The range for this role in these locations is $181,200 to $271,800 USD.  As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission and new hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise , as evaluated during the interview process.
