Seattle Children’s Hospital Security Officer II - .6 FTE in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities: The Security Officer II is the primary responders for all safety concerns, security incidents and service request at facilities owned or occupied by Seattle Children's in the department's efforts to deter, detect, prevent, respond, and document concerns or incidents that risk the safety and well-being of patients, families, visitors, workforce members, and property by utilizing appropriate protocols, emergency response procedures, and/or non-violent crisis intervention methods. Security Officers in this position respond to situations that include but are not limited to fire emergencies, hazardous spills, disaster response, medical emergencies, safety support, missing child, active shooter, bomb threats, individuals under distress or escalated, unauthorized persons on Seattle Children's property or buildings occupied by Seattle Children's workforce members with intentions to commit crimes such as vandalism, theft, and assault. Requirements: Evening Shift .6 FTE Required Education/Experience: Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field or a combination of 3 years related experience in Security Services or related field Required Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (Annual Requirement) Completion of NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hire Completion of Seattle Children's Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hire Safety Cares Certification within 90 days of hire if required for location (Annual Requirement) Completion of Car Seat Safety Training within 12 months of hire if required for position/role Score of 80% or above on Seattle Children's Security Competency Exam in assigned area of the Security Department (Service Call, Emergency Department, Entrance, Surge, and Research) within 12 months.
